CUSTOMIZED DESIGNS

SNF has capabilities and competencies to adapt the design and construction of polymer facilities to match with:

  • International standards (API, ASME)
  • Customer-specific requirements
  • Field constraints (climatic and soil conditions, available footprint)

TURNKEY PROJECTS: EPC/DBOOM

Our global network enables us to achieve complex turn-key projects, not only focusing on polymer injection but also including water treatment and oil separation, offering our customers fully integrated solutions for their field development projects.

SNF’s knowledge and experience enables execution of full EPC contracts:

  • EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, Installation)
  • DBOOM (Design, Build, Own, Operate, Maintain)

Our engineering teams can provide optimized and competitive solutions based on standardized equipment to reduce costs and execution time.

To simplify facility set-up, SNF provides support to its clients worldwide for installation and construction activities.  Our experts and local technicians will perform pre-inspection to identify tie-in points.  They will also perform plot area surveys and identify road access points.

OFFSHORE DESIGNS

Offshore environments differ from onshore.  Environmental and space constraints must be recognized and identified.  SNF’s Engineering Team can take these requirements into consideration to provide our clients with optimized designs and systems.

Example of constraints to be considered:

  • Minimized footprint and weight optimization
  • Reinforced structure
  • Corrosion protection
  • Full hazardous classification (ATEX)

SPECIFIC DESIGNS FOR HARSH WEATHER CONDITIONS

Specific location in terms of seasonal climatic conditions results in a need to design for cold weather, snow build-up, high winds, and excessive rainfall.  This leads to additional design considerations such as insulated buildings, additional heating/HVAC, heat-trace requirements, modified roof designs, ice rakes for roofs, overhead protection for doorways, and low temperature rating for externally located equipment and instrumentation.

Local regulatory requirements for individual locations within Canada and Alaska impact designs and layouts, which can result in additional design documentation and review requirements from third parties.  These would include:

  • Structural welding conformance to Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) standards
  • Pressure piping systems reviewed by and registered with relevant local regulatory authority (ABSA, TSASK, etc.)
  • CSA certified panel shop and Electrical and Instrumentation systems conforming to CSA and CEC requirements
  • Instrumentation and cabling rated for cold weather conditions (arctic rated where required)
  • Design documentation reviewed and sealed/stamped by a registered professional engineer
