ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

Energy Efficiency

SNF will strive to reduce energy consumption by implementing energy-efficient technologies and practices, such as using energy-saving appliances or heat recovery systems and promoting natural lighting.

In particular, actions are being taken to fight against heat loss:

• Verification and maintenance of condensate purgers on steam circuits,
• Maintenance and repair of insulation after maintenance operations,
• Insulation of large ducts and equipment in powder drying lines, whereas previously only thermal protection was used,
• Use of High-Efficiency Heat Pumps encouraged within SNF facilities,
• Use of solar panels is highly encouraged in SNF facilities, especially in parking lots.

Waste Management

SNF will minimize waste generation and maximize recycling and reuse opportunities. This includes implementing recycling programs, encouraging employees to reduce paper and plastic waste, and exploring innovative waste management solutions.

Water Conservation

SNF will strive to preserve water by implementing water-efficient technologies and practices, such as using low-flow fixtures, capturing and reusing rainwater, and promoting water-saving behaviors among employees.

For example, SNF has installed new high-pressure reactor washing systems that require three to four times less water than a standard wash. Such reactor cleaning is quicker and does not require water heating (zero steam consumption). This reactor washing system is in service on SNF plants in France and the USA and is currently deployed in India and the UK.

Emissions Reduction

SNF will work towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions by implementing energy-efficient transportation practices, promoting carpooling and public transportation, and exploring alternative fuels and renewable energy sources. SNF will work towards reducing its products’ carbon footprint by sourcing and promoting alternate, sustainable raw materials.

SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Employee Engagement

SNF will foster a culture of sustainability by providing employees with training and resources to promote sustainable practices at work and in their personal lives. SNF will also encourage employee engagement in sustainability initiatives and recognize and reward their contributions.

Supply Chain Management

SNF will collaborate with suppliers and contractors to ensure they adhere to sustainable practices.

This includes selecting suppliers committed to sustainability, conducting regular assessments of their environmental and social performance, and working together to improve sustainability throughout the supply chain.

Community Involvement

SNF will actively engage with local communities by supporting local sustainability initiatives, participating in environmental conservation efforts, and contributing to community development programs aligning with our vision.

Sustainable Procurement

SNF will prioritize purchasing products and services that are environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and ethically sourced. This includes considering lifecycle costs, environmental certifications, and supplier practices when making procurement decisions.
