Overview

At SNF Group, we recognize our responsibility as a key player in environmental protection and understand the importance of delivering and manufacturing our products safely and securely. Our Industrial Risk Management System (IRMS) is an integral part of our organization and ensures compliance with all regulations related to our business. This Major Accident Prevention Policy outlines our commitment to managing industrial risks and preventing major facility accidents.

Risk Analysis and Management

  • Potential hazards associated with chemical processes, equipment, and activities are identified and assessed.
  • We evaluate the risks associated with these hazards.
  • Risk analysis is the essential step in all SNF Group development projects.
  • Systematic analyses are conducted of the impacts and risks associated with each installation from the project’s inception and throughout its lifecycle.
  • Feedback from accidents, near misses, incidents, and malfunctions is carefully analyzed to implement appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
  • Priority is given to reducing risks at the source by choosing the most advanced technologies and implementing preventive and corrective risk control measures.
  • Preventive maintenance of hazardous installations is regularly performed to ensure optimal functioning and safety.

Geographical Distribution and Domino Effects

  • We carefully consider the geographical distribution of danger zones to prevent domino effects in case of accidents.
  • Our installations are designed and operated to minimize the potential for cascading accidents.

Regulatory Compliance and Watch

  • A comprehensive regulatory watch is maintained to stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to major accident prevention.
  • Compliance with these regulations is a fundamental principle of our safety management system.

Emergency Preparedness and Response

  • Periodic and unannounced exercises are conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of our emergency procedures and response plans.
  • Both day and night drills involving the intervention of Internal Response Teams ensure preparation for any potential major accident.
  • Emergency response plans are developed with Communities such as Fire Departments, Hazardous Materials Teams, Emergency Medical Services, Environmental Agencies, and Municipalities by chemical facilities to help mitigate Major risks.
  • Our emergency plan is accessible to all employees on our internal network and dedicated stations for quick reference during critical situations.

Inventory Monitoring and Control

  • Daily updates of raw material and finished product inventories at all sites are maintained to ensure efficient monitoring and control.
  • This enables us to identify any discrepancies or potential risks promptly.

Industrial Risk Management System Evaluation and Improvement

  • We monitor the effectiveness of our Industrial Risk Management System through internal audits, training, and refresher courses in the field.
  • E-learning modules are utilized for safety-critical operations.
  • Management reviews are conducted to assess the performance of the IRMS and develop action plans for continuous improvement.

Integration of Security Policy

  • Our security policy is integrated into the Industrial Risk Management System to protect assets, information, and the organization from intentional harm, such as theft, vandalism, sabotage, or cyber-attacks.

Continuous Improvement

  • We continually strive for improvement by considering the results of internal audits, inspections by local authorities, new scientific knowledge, available techniques, and regulatory changes.
  • This allows us to enhance our IRMS and maintain the safety of our facilities.
  • Every year, a management review relating to the IRMS is conducted, and we take stock of the actions carried out and define a new action Management review.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Our Major Accident Prevention Policy is known to all SNF personnel and is widely communicated to all stakeholders.
  • We actively engage and communicate with stakeholders to promote a culture of Industrial Risk and ensure their understanding and support.

By adhering to this Major Accident Prevention Policy, SNF is dedicated to preventing major accidents and ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees, customers, and the environment.
